Buildings in Strumiany are old houses, characterized by the so-called Prussian wall (so-popular name for the wall of the bolt). It’s kind of wall skeleton also known as the half-timbered, a wall filled with bricks, rubble, sometimes of clay and reeds. It`s wooden structure is visible, often impregnated and can be treated as a decorative element. Dwelling houses numbered 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12 half-timbered structures built in the mid-nineteenth century and are protected as historical monuments.
In Strumiany since 1961 has lived for 35 years known poet and novelist Joanna Kulmowa with her husband John – a philosopher and a theater director.
Sowno – Is located about 2 km from the entrance gate Spa Med in the direction towards Stargard. The village was built in the fifteenth century, originally belonged to the Cistercian Order of the Kołbacz. At the entrance to the Sown from Stargard rising neo-gothic church built in 1888 of brick, rectangular in shape, with a separate chancel from the east. From the west tower with a slender octagonal cupola covered with sheet iron. Church. St. Mary Magdalene was dedicated in 1945. Inside there is a nineteenth-century equipment: benches, gallery choir and organ. Renaissance altar and pulpit from the years 1554-1561 have a rich history. Both the altar, pulpit and polychrome wood sculptures, were made by carvers Nuremberg trials, the workshop of Peter Schultz. According to legend, co-author of these works was to be Barnim XI, son of Prince Boguslaw X and Queen Anne. The church porch is a sandstone relief depicting Nicolas Hinze, who died in 1599, a clown prince John Frederick.
In the church there are many monuments here associated with the existing wooden hunting residence of John Frederick in the second half of the sixteenth century (unfortunately, the residence has not survived to our times). On the south side of the church is a monument – the pedestal of the fallen World War.
Stargard Szczeciński – Away from Strumiany about 17 kilometers. Stargard is the most valuable monument of the zero-class Western Pomerania, a UNESCO World Heritage List, the Gothic church – the collegiate church of Our Lady Queen of the World. Was built three centuries ago. In the year 1242 was in this place a wooden chapel, then, from 1292 to 1324 built a stone church of the Assumption, and then from year 1388 to the end of the sixteenth century church built to the current shape. Building designer was the architect Henry Brunsberg and reflects the desire to make the rich burghers representative of the temple buildings, collapsing forever in the memory of all foreign visitors. The interior of the church – the main altar and the pulpit and other items are baroque equipment while the external elevations there are plenty of architectural ornamentation.
Puszcza Goleniowska – It is an extensive complex of forest as big as nearly 63 000 ha. In the center of it Strumiany are localized. Forest forms mainly form overgrowing on quite poor sand soil pine forest with a few pieces of oak, beech, alder and ash. The complex is also characterized by the presence of peat bogs. Forest is rich in places where shelter and the possibility of breeding many species of threatened and endangered plants and animals. It is one of the most important places in Poland of eagle – Polish coat of arms was to be protected bird. You can also see the white storks and cranes looking for food in the mid-forest meadows.
Their nesting sites is of black kite and red, corncrake, spotted and crake bittern. Spring forest echoes voices of numerous songbirds.
The surroundings are characterized by a unique landscape values. Meadows and reeds have large populations of orchids (over 1000 copies). Meadows and pastures is an important food base for the animals. The diverse mosaic of flowering in the spring and summer herbage create unique color effects affecting the beauty of the landscape. Because of the health benefits of pine forests and excellent opportunities for harvesting berries and mushrooms, this is an area very attractive for active tourism and recreation. In addition, enthusiasts can hunt. Here you will find excellent conditions for hunting. There are many wild boars, deer and sometimes there are even a moose.
In the village Kliniska Wielkie there is an Nature and Education Center, which is used in education in terms of knowledge about nature. The Centre was set up near the three mile trail for walkers and trail with 16 stops showing the beauty of nature education Goleniów Forest. In addition there is 450-year-old (according to legend, the 600-year) linden tree, “Anna” under which, according to legend, received the Polish embassy – Princess Anna Jagiellonian Pomeranian and her husband – Boguslaw X, Duke of Pomerania most famous lime is 871 cm in circumference and 27 meters high.
Rzeka Ina – The river flows in the immediate vicinity of Strumiany. By its nature, provides many landscapes. It is natural river and not adjustable. Therefore, in the spring – autumn shed periodically, creating a wide flood. This river meanders strongly, creating numerous meanders and islands. Ina is a popular place for canoeing. Canoe trail “Meanders of Ina” 33.5 km in length near Bącznik begins (by the road Stawno – Kliniska Wielkie) and maintained by Zabrodzie, Goleniów, Modrzewie, and Bolesławice to Inoujście.
Jezioro Miedwie – The cleanest and the fifth largest lake in Poland is located about 20 km away from Strumiany. It is perfectly prepared for water sports: kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing, diving, swimming, etc. The living waters of rare species of fish and whitefish found in alpine lakes.
At a distance of about 30 km from Strumiany, on the outskirts of Binowo, picturesque village situated in the Bukowe Hills in Szczecin Landscape Park, is a professional 18-hole golf course. The project field was developed on the basis of a beautiful, natural terrain of the Szczecin Landscape Park. Characteristic, undulating landscape with hills on the first of Nine and natural water obstacles in 8 of 9 holes the other nine simply breathtaking.
In addition, on the other side of the road separating the field of training of an 18-hole golf is 9-hole golf. It has been designed to be interesting for both beginners and more advanced players.
Due to the large number of trails and walking paths set in the Goleniowski Forest, Nordic Walking can be practiced throughout the year. CYCLING AND HIKING
Around Strumiany we organized a number of great bike paths and trails and paths for walkers and teaching, including the picturesque areas of Ina and trails in the Goleniowska forest . Everyone, regardless of their skills, find the right path for himself.
